BlueLinx has expanded its distribution of MoistureShield composite decking and railing from its distribution center in Lakeland, FL, to its DCs in Miami and Jacksonville, FL.

The Forest Products Group, Columbus, OH, agreed to distribute Barrette Outdoor Living's DuraLife decking in Indiana, Ohio and North Carolina. FPG has already been carrying Barrette's RDI railing products.

Are You Switched?
Dec. 16, 2019 is the Automatic
On-Board Recording Device Deadline
Regardless of the controversy, most over-the-road trucking companies must now install Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) if they do not already use them. Here are some facts about the ELD mandate that you might have overlooked, but are important to know:
1. Exemptions from the Rule
- Any commercial trucks that are older than the model year 2000.
- Regional and local carriers that operate within 100 miles of their terminals.
- Drive-away or tow-away businesses that typically transport new or used trucks from factories to dealerships.
2. Technological Requirements
- ELD Must be able to transfer information via email or Bluetooth.
- ELD must be able to prove a printout or display of data during a roadside inspection.
3. Supporting Documents Still Required
- Rule requires drivers to keep no more that eight supporting documents from a trip for at least eight days. Can include dispatch records, trip records, expense receipts, settlement sheets and other dated materials.
